Erica is lost and struggling to find meaning and true enjoyment in her life. After causing a car accident that kills a Haitian woman, Erica is surprised to be forgiven by the widowed husband. They gradually form a friendship as she undergoes an unexpected rebirth of spirit that puts her on a path to a more substantial life.
ARTISTIC STATEMENT
In CRESCENT MOON, I plan to make a film that provides a realistic portrait of forgiveness. The history of cinema is filled with films that depict the power and destructiveness of revenge. I believe that truly forgiving someone is one of the most powerful actions anyone can take. My goal is to show the process of summoning the courage and strength it takes to realize true forgiveness.
May aim is to make a film that shows the inherent sadness of loss alongside celebration of life and rebirth with subtlety, humor, and emotional honesty.
